i agree with John then. i would have to assume all will be good unless he starts going at the lil ones. if he doesn`t, he is vertually no threat at all.

if you are trying to get rid of snails cause of population problems....i don`t recommend putting any in the snail free tank....

it should be fine....just do a water change when you get home of your normal 25% and don`t add salt when you refill. rest assured....all should be just fine.

when i kept giant danios as dithers....the cichlids eventually bored of chasing them. i didnt know what to do until the danios solved the problem themselves. they started sneaking up on the cichlids and nipping at their fins. that tells me the danios enjoyed "playing" and will do anything to get the other tankmates to chase them...

hmmmmmm.....i never even considered that. the corries that died, what was the condition of their lil corpse. john may be onto something although even if there are no visible marks....stress kills just as effectively and efficiently.

i have had many fish that do this....not sure if there is a study....but i feel they are either yawning or expelling fish that are caught half way down.....

well first off....you are right...platties wouldn`t ever shut up. but now the problem at hand...is it possible the intake is too strong and the corries arent strong enough to avoid the suction? ?

i would say the closer to you the better. i would also say a few drops of MB as well as a battery operated air pump with a air stone. these guys will last a long long time with those 2 things

I have several tanks but only 1 set up right now....it is a 90 gallon and in it I have a couple very very rare species. up until today it was an all male tank as well. I have a 14" Vieja Synspilla, a 10" amphilonsi lyonsi, a foot long common pleco, a 7" squeeker catfish, and now the breeding pairs of the labeotropheus Trewavasae. I can`t add pics here cause I have tried to figure it out but doesnt seem to work. It hurts my head....lol.

good afternoon all. I just got back from the calgary aquatic society auction. didn`t want to...but i made a purchase there. I bought a breeding pair of labeotropheus trewavasae. they are gorgeous . i just finished introducing them to the tank and so far so good. i am setting up a fry tank right now as i was told by the owner that these two have become prolific breeders. Also...I have a buyer for any fry this pair produce as long as I keep the line clean....wish me luck.

new suggestion....why not a male tank. a small tank is beautiful with alot of color. like the guys mentioned.......breeding is not necessary. enjoy the fish....and they live long enough to become close
