I already ordered two heaters, just waiting for them to arrive. The other heater in my third 5.5 is a 50 watt heater and has kept the tank at a constant 76 degrees. But the two without a heater, the bettas are still extremely active and one is building nests daily.

These two are my new bettas. One is a Giant Red Galaxy Koi and the other is a Super Red Halfmoon. The giant is in a 5.5 gallon tank and the super red is in a 2.5 gallon tank. Both tanks have a filter.

My giant is going a lot better. His fins are now starting to heal and regrow. He’s still a bit sluggish but he’s still active and eating.

I rescaped my 14 gallon betta tank and swapped out the neons with Cardinal tetras. The neons won’t like the higher temperatures the betta likes. Also swapped out the HOB for a sponge filter. Added floaters and so far I like this look. The anubias is under the rock and wood so no worries about it dying. I do have anubias in my other tanks that have come from one plant I had in a 10 gallon tank planted in the gravel about 10 years ago. I thing it was 2” when I gotten it and once I went to spilt it up it grew 6”. I still break it up when I have to.

I bet you could find a happy medium temp where you can have both the betta and tetra. May bully them though. Not always from what I've seen.

The tank is sitting at 80-82 the last I checked. I have an alien betta that be going into the tank tonight. I know if tetras are in large enough schools they are less likely to nip. I kept tetras and bettas together on many occasions and had very little to no nipping.

I gotten three new bettas, was four new, one didn’t survive being shipped. The turquoise giant, red blue orchid rosetail halfmoon and the nemo plakat are the new bettas. I believe the giant is an over halfmoon. Beautiful bettas!

I lost both my old dragon betta and my giant red galaxy koi. The dragon wasn’t eating much anymore and had a tumor on his side. He was roughly 6-7months old when I got him last year, so he was close to 2 years old now. My giant gotten very sick and wouldn’t respond to treatments, he had fin rot, stopped eating and swimming, would sink immediately when he swam, but he wasn’t bloated. I treated with meds and salt baths.

Tore down one of the 5 gallon tanks and replaced it with a 10 gallon tank that I was given by my stepmom with a glass top. It came with white gravel and river rocks. I mixed the black gravel from the 5 into the white, moved over the plants and wood and put the filter from my 14 gallon on to it. I also divided it up in two 5 gallon sections. I added some anubias nano and pygmy corydoras to my 14 gallon. The nanos are glued to small stones.

Thank you! Waiting on a new betta to ship and arrive this week for one of my 5 gallons. My red blue rosetail orchid betta went from being active to sick to developing dropsy and dying in a day of developing said dropsy.

Thank you! Waiting on a new betta to ship and arrive this week for one of my 5 gallons. My red blue rosetail orchid betta went from being active to sick to developing dropsy and dying in a day of developing said dropsy. Wow, sorry to read this, he was a very beautiful Betta. I do have to wonder if with all the in-breeding to come up with new strains, that some genetics may also lead to osmoregulation and other health issues.
