Extraoridinary fish! I have never seen a betta with that coloration before. It looks as if he has orange, yellow, and red on his fins and a black body. Very unusual coloring. You picked a very good fish!

Hi Thanks for the compliments He is a Halfmoon black gold metalic betta but he does have a little red in him. Yea quite a steal but the seller changed his auction to no local pickup after me he only lives 15-20 miles away from me and wanted to ship the fish I refused he finally said ok so i think he makes up what he spends through shipping because thease do come from thialand, not sure for sure if thats the case, He did say after I met him he will sell to me still no shipping but will probly cost $20 up now lol

 That has got to be the most beautiful betta I have ever seen. I used to have a metallic blue half moon, I think half moon and crown tail are my favorites. Do you plan to breed him?

Yes i plan to try and breed him I am looking high and low for a femal metalic either black gold or copper maybe a nice pineapple too def a pinapple/yellow MG pr some thing like this. Curtis    |

never tried my hand at bettas.....but if i did, that would be the one i`d try to find. great snag on that one....

That's an awesome fish! Nice snag! It's pretty rare to find great bettas like that at auction (believe me, I've tried! lol) I know a few places that you might be able to find a female to match this boy. If you'd like, pm me and I'll send them to you (not wanting to promote other forums publicly...not sure if that's ethical) Great find! if you do find a female and breed him, put me up for a few fry!

Curtis...I swear that your boy and mine could be brothers!!! I wish I had a girl for you. I only have 2 girls left out of my spawn and they are red. I will breed them back to their brothers but not till after June.  |

Hi All Whatya Know Whatya Know I got this female about a month ago from Petsmart She has no or a yellowish color only
So I tought I would give her a try. I put in with my new male Yesterday Nothing but today while I was at work they spawned looks like about 50-75 eggs. Not sure what will come of the spawn but look fwd to seeing results.

Great job! You hqave very pretty female bettas! I used to breed bettas and I must say you seem a lot better at it than me. Congrats!
