So, this is about a month after my 1st post. ALL signs of disease are gone. Thanks, Carl! A Q about the Wonder Shells: do I replace as soon as dissolved?

I'll dose 1/2 the recommended size and replace when it's dissolved or the next closes water change after it's dissolved.

How do I know the HITH is gone? I did a long (10-12 day) treatment with Metro laced foods. But I still see white pustules on their heads.

Thanks for the picture.
The pustules are not to what I would call the "scar" stage yet, but they do not look bad either.
Do you see any differences such as before and after? In other words, since this is a very slow process of healing, you want to see an improvement, albeit slow.

Just finished 3 weeks of dosing Metro, every other day. Wonder shell. Weekly WC of 50%. Still there. :/

HITH can be relatively easy to get rid of (although generally there is always permanent scarring), but sometimes it can be difficult in certain cases. My focus with HITH cure has always been focused on the water parameters, & feeding with less emphasis on the meds Carl

I have treated both food & tank. Tank is always pristine--50% weekly WC. Parameters: ammonia/nitrite 0, nitrate 10.

Cant find or remember what's being feed? Quality is key. Poor ingredient food will make healing more difficult.

Looks good. I will make the point that a good food should generally not need supplementation, it should stand alone, which is why I recommend Paradigm over Repashy Example from Repashy: "INGREDIENTS: Squid Meal, Krill Meal, Fish Meal, Schizochytrium Algae, Dried Brewer’s Yeast, Coconut Meal, Dried Seaweed Meal, Lecithin, Spirulina Algae, Dried Kelp, Locust Bean Gum, Potassium Citrate, Taurine, Watermelon, RoseHips, Hibiscus Flower, Calendula Flower, Marigold Flower, Paprika, Turmeric, Calcium Propionate and Potassium Sorbate (as preservatives), Magnesium Amino Acid Chelate, Zinc Methionine Hydroxy Analogue Chelate, Manganese Methionine Hydroxy Analogue Chelate, Copper Methionine Hydroxy Analogue Chelate, Selenium Yeast. Vitamins: (Vitamin A Supplement, Vitamin D Supplement, Choline Chloride, Calcium L-Ascorbyl-2- Monophosphate, Vitamin E Supplement, Niacin, Beta Carotene, Pantothenic Acid, Riboflavin, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Thiamine Mononitrate, Folic Acid, Biotin, Vitamin B-12 Supplement, Menadione Sodium Bisulfite Complex)."This is noted in the opening part of this article: www.americanaquariumproducts.com/Quality_Fish_Food.htmlOtherwise, I would consider the use of Clout Carl

My opinion on this still being a problem. My educated guess is that the HITH happened from a long-term lacking of electrolyte minerals, which means medications are not going to help. Its going to be the supply of these minerals long term, which will help slowly heal the HITH. It was a long progression to have the issue, which means a long progression to heal.
I would stop all meds, just focus on great water and electrolytes.

I will get some Paradigm & Clout then, too. Can never have too many varieties of foods to feed my wet friends! I need to order more Shells, also.

Sorry for the confusion. My point should have been made on this thread. Healthy food and healthy long term GH minerals.
