thanks Brenda - have always has a fondness for the commons - they just seem friendlier......used to like to have his belly rubbed - came right to me and let me catch him by hand and never resisted when I moved him to the styrofoam container when I gave him away.....

Nice picture. Would he ever suck on your finger? That would be even cuter than a goldfish nibbling on fingers. lol Glad you gave him to a good home.

I love it when they put that dorsal fin up! I am so jealous of your friendly pleco! Fudge is such a chicken sissy that he hides all the time until the light is turned off. I've never had one be so that skittish. How long did you have your friendly giant before you gave him away? I love plecos, too. I've almost always had commons but I did have a chocolate albino once.

He's so cool!
My grandma used to have a pleco in a fish tank, but at the time we had all smaller fish in ours and I just thought he was creepy because he was so big, so I don't remember what kind he was, lol.

my pleco used to love to hang out on the glass, right from the start - he didn't seem bothered by me at all when I went in there cleaning and moving stuff around and eventually tolerated me touching him - would spend a lot of time rubbing his belly both in the tank and up against the glass from the outside - friction must have warmed the glass cuz he'd just wiggle around like he could feel it! out of the 3 plecos I have now, they're all 4-5", they're all hidey guys, nothing like plecoman

that's soo cool! I had one I just had to rehome to a 200+ as well. my mom had him from a baby, then he totally out grew her 30 and when I took him to my 55, he had already out grown that! They are amazing fish that's for sure! I once saw one in the wild in FL, figured someone had dumped him and he grew like crazy, they aren't native to FL are they? now I'm just keeping the albino bristle noses...lol
