I have a light I got with my 40 gallon aquarium when I bought it. The lady that I bought it from said the light was for a saltwater tank. I looked thoroughly on the instructions and I could not find wattage, lumens, etc. All I know is that it is made by All Glass Aquarium and is a twin tube fluorescent strip light. Would it be ok to use for goldfish assuming it is for saltwater aquariums?
The instructions also caution a lot about it getting wet. If a few drips got on it, would there be a problem?
I am also wondering about wetness with T-2 light I got from Carl. The T-2 light will have no glass in between it and the water itself. I will have it positioned directly over the tank. The bubbler gets water all over the top so it will probably get the T-2 light very wet. For safety reasons, (example, electrical shock) I need to be absolutely sure this is ok. ( I know I have already asked this once but I want to be make sure everything is safe.)
I apologize for asking this twice. I small fire we had this evening in our micorwave has me on edge.
Thanks!
Renee

The T2 I gave you has a protective cover on it that is water resistant (key word is resistant, so as long as it does not get too wet, there should not be a problem)
Also these lights as with most Fluorescents do not use the wattage that a microwave use, and I have seen many lights get quite wet and not cause a fire, not that I recommend this of course.
The saltwater lights likely will fine for your goldfish, they are probably 10,000 K

Thanks for letting me know. I will be adding both of the lights to my goldfish tanks tomorrow. I bet it will make their tanks look a lot prettier.
