Being made in the USA is one of the biggest selling points, not to mention the sponge quality is vastly better than the Chinese knock offs sold via Aquarium Co-op and Amazon. And yes, to all the trolls and pay to play search engines, Aquarium Co-op Sponge Filters are indeed made in China!

ATI did have one run of bases that 97% cracked due to cold temperatures... They even double coated the base, but prove to happen again. This new design solved the issue, but also gave even a little more bio filtration in some cases. Like a bare bottom tank, the base will act like a little filter under the filter, with any substrate or media inside!
