Hey all, I'm finally back!!! Senior year is even busier than I thought it would be, so my time on here is limited at best.
A question I asked yesterday on YA (I know, I know, I'll come to you next time, I just didn't have the link to this site on my other computer) revealed to me that I had fancy guppy females and lyretail guppy males in my community tank. All of my females are pregnant, some very close to popping. What I'm curious about is, what kind of guppies can I expect? Will it be a mix between the two, some of each kind, or only one variety? I know how to do the little genetic cross chart thingy, but I figured this would be more complex than that... So what am I about to get?
Also, I don't plan to use a breeder net or anything like that, I have a betta and the guppies to keep the population down, and I have a thick layer of floating plant and some java moss for some survivors to hide in until maturity.
Finally, will powdered food be fine to feed the fry? Or will I need to invest in some other feeding methods?
Thanks in advance!

Welcome back Clint!
I'm a guppy breeder myself. Powdered food should be fine. Just make it into sm,all enough pieces that they can eat. I don't know much about guppy strains so I can't help you out much there. Also, baby guppies do best at a temperature of around 78. If your guppies are liek mine, they'll eat the babies as well as the betta.
Good luck!

Yes welcome back!
As Renee noted powdered flake foods should be fine, I would vary between a high digestible protein formula and a veggie/spirulina flake.
The other part of your question is more subjective and involves many variables such as recessive and dominant genes, and if either fish is pure.
From my experience the wild strains tend to be more dominant, HOWEVER even then if you have closer to wild strain of lyretail guppy that is from mixed parentage, this may not have the dominant characterics expected.
For example if guppy A is fancy and guppy B is a wild strain (or close to), and they breed, chances are that only one out of 4 would show the fancy charactaristics. However in another example if A is still fancy, but B is a wild appearance from a mixed mating the odds may then be 50/50.
Now I want to qualify my answer as very basic, over simplified as there are likely more variables at play than in my over simplified answer.

Speaking of food, i have the spirulina flake's and i mush them up pretty good for the baby mollies, should I be feeding them anything else at this point? Or are they to small?
