Ill answer what I can. I would mix the food per Carl's article. www.americanaquariumproducts.com/Aquarium_Medication.html#food_deliveryI've never heard about the low dosing. I've just gone off the recommended dosing from Carl's articles. He's had so much experience, he would note if the dosing needed to be increased. I've seen fish get better in their own time, after a treatment if water quality was kept up. It really comes down to how strong the fish is and of the disease. I've really had mixed results with all my treatments. So, when the recommendations didn't work, I just had to put it on the immunity and strength of the fish.

Carl, The copper who has hemorrhagic septicemia is receiving myacin and Kanaplex combined right now. Seems to perk up but the red in his eyes and fins are not going away yet. How long is the longest I can dose these two together? I suspect viral infection or gram negative at this point. After this course I will discontinue all meds. He needs a break anyways. We bought indian almond leaves and are now using those in everybody's tank. To your knowledge, how good is Chloramphenicol? I may be able to get my hands on some. If I am able, do you think it could help this betta( ofc I will discontinue all meds for at least ten days before I try that. Also, what kind of side effects do chloramphenicol have on fish? Did they ban it because it is dangerous to human rather than fish? You mention it is a really useful antibiotics for fish , could you elaborate more what it is good for, contraindications and stuff like that? Good news, the betta boy who we thought may not make it is now a beautiful copper. He is off all meds and have been growing his tail out. Long way to go, but just from his behavior he seems to be a happy healthy betta now I have attached his pictures. They are not the best, but I dont want to stress him out by catching him out of his hospital tub. Thanks a lot for your help Attachments:

Chloramphenicol can be a very effective treatment, especially when combined with Nitrofurazone (do not combine Myacin or especially Kanamycin) You can continue the Myacin/Kanaplex up to two full treatment regimens, IF you can keep the ammonia or nitrites from spiking (using sepate pre-seasoned sponge filters can help for this) Reference: www.americanaquariumproducts.com/Aquarium_Medication.html#bio_filtrationCarl
