My brain has seriously gone on vacation for the week. 10g Tank, 10g HOB, bare bottomed, floating Lace Java Fern, Male and Female German Blue Ram, 3 or 4 pond snails. Water change 25% weekly. Temp around 85*F (heat room with space heater...this tank is about a foot off the ground). Was not prepared when I got the fish (started out 6 total). Tank had been set up maybe a week(?) before I got the fish. I was careful with water changes and used 2x as much Prime. The pair that are in there now spawned (not expecting that), so I removed 4 fish. About 3 days or so after I removed the 4 others, I had that slimy algae (bacteria?) take over the tank. Fry were gone, about the same time this come up. I cleaned all the surfaces, and did a 25% water change. All was fine for a few days, then it is back again. I plan on setting this tank up with substrate, plants, hidey places, and such, but I need to get this bloom under control first . I tend to leave the lights on 24/7 (not on a timer yet), so I don't know if this is causing it or not. I know the answer here, but for the life of me, it won't come to me - feeling very frustrated!
