Yes perfect topic title... lol oh my
Anyways, so no I don't have water parameters, maybe later if you guys reaaaaally need them but I'm supposed to be studying for a midterm tomorrow right now and I'm procrastinating as it is.
But other info, I have no changed their diet, they get Aquatrol Spirulina 20 flakes, soaked in water, every odd few days they get some brine shrimp. Once and awhile I'll mix the cheaper nutrafin goldie food flakes with some of the spirulina flakes, since I need to get rid of them...and they love them.
Either way, their poop has changed, in all three goldies. It's gotten really really thick, and dense, but it's also got bubbles in it and it's floating. and they are pooping alot alot alot more than usual and it's in very long strings and wont detach from them easily. Like I'm talking half a foot long without falling off. It ranges in color but really I don't think that the color is different than usual. Just the density, thickness, length and its floating, its never done that before.
Ideas?

Do I understand this right, that you have made no changes in their diet, but this problem is now occuring?
Are there any changes in water parmeters?
The floating of Goldie poop concerns me the most as this indicates air in their intestinal tract which can lead to intestinal infection.
Try feeding some frozen or FD Brine Shrimp or shell peas
Also a bath in salt/epsom salts MAY help.
If this continues, you may need to try medications, but I would like to know more history.

I had the same problem with one of my goldfish. I'm not sure if it has this anymore but that does indicate air. Maybe you are not soaking your food for long enough. Also, could they be air sucking? My goldfish used to love to do that before I put in a bubbler and made the surface current too strong for them to comfortably suck. lol

in fact , it may not be food at all. could be a stomach bug....ie parasite that is not allowing for proper digestion of food.

I do soak my food, do you guys think it's a bug, should I just keep an eye on them or what? Like i said I have not changed their diet and they get fed well with spirulina flakes and brine shrimp sometimes. Cheaper fish food only once a week or so to get rid of it. I haven't noticed this poop the last couple days maybe it stopped? I'm keeping an eye on them

Once again Bill beats me to the punch ;D
But I will second the thought as to NOT rushing to medicate, I would only maybe give a salt/MB IF even that![/b]

yeeaaah I wanna avoid a bath, bathing three large goldfish isn't fun, one let alone three, they thrash around alot when you transfer them and I need bigger containers for them. -_-
