I just recently had Lexan hoods made for my tank and they seal the tank very well with only small opening where my canister filter uptake and return are and where my co2 airlines come in.
The questions I have is there is a vast amount of condensation on the inside of the Lexan, and I was wondering if that is effecting the light penetration. If it is how do I get rid of all the condensation?

This will block some light, more via refraction of the light. This said, from what I have observed, condensation is not as bad as calcium buildup on glass, acrylic, etc lids for blocking light.
My suggestion is to add some air flow under this lid (even with just an aquarium air pump)

Yeah, I get a lot of condensation on my Lexan sheets too. Not that much though.
Looks like we have a VERY similar setup.
