Hi, I owe a new fish tank. Recently I noticed some black spots in my gold fish. I don’t know the reason for this. Is there any one who could advice me on this?

Can you tell me what is your tank size is, your water parameters, and also is the goldfish showing any other symptoms? Also, are these black spots only on its fins or all over its body?
That info will better help me tell you what this is.

As goldenpuon noted, we need more information such as ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, KH, pH, GH.
Tanks size, filtration, and maintenance schedule can help too.
This could be as simple as a color/pigment change (which is noting to worry about) or a an infection often caused by water parameters such as high ammonia.

I have had fish completely change in appearence as they have matured! lets hope it is this simple and not a body fungus or anything like that.

I have actually had a goldfish get black spots on its fins from high ammonia/nitrite levels 6 years ago. However, it may be from other causes.
As well, a question I think I should add, is are the spots raised like they are a parasite/infection or do they just look like a black-spot pigment change?
