I have 8 beautiful Goldfish that only want to eat "Flakes". I have cooked veggies for them and they just layon the bottom until I clean them up... I have 4 different pellets that they just spit out and let lay on the bottom also... I gave them blood worms and the just spit them out and let them fall to the bottom. Should I stop feeding them the flakes and force them to eat the other items? I just do not want to slow their growth, they have grown at a very large rate.

My goldfish are pigs and always hungry and I have never run into this problem but I will do my best to help. First of all, what kind of pellets are you feeding them? Also, are they showing any signs of illness or stress that would make them reject food? What kind of vegetables are you giving them? Peas and perhaps zuccini are good but cucumber, lettuce, and other vegetables some petstores feed to fish are really not a good idea. Sanyu Goldfish food, and Spirulina 20 are excellent food to feed goldfish. Mine will literally attack my hands when I feed them the Spirulina 20 every morning. Also check out Carl's articles. thanks, I am using Spirulina Flakes. I have used cooked carrots and peas. My pellets are Aqueon goldfish granules (2 types) and Micro-Lift Legacy mini Koi & Goldfish Food Mini Pellets. I also have Brine Shrimp and Blood Worms. I will try everyones suggestions. I call my goldfish my little water hogs because they will eat the flakes so fast.

Have you tried an algae wafer? While it is not made particularly for goldfish, mine love it. At first they just swim past it when I put it in but when they realized that it is edible, they frantically swim to it. They push and shove each other to get most they can.
My fish are not a fan of peas either. Do you take the skin off the pea? I was told that for peas, you should just give them the inside. And carrots, I don't know if that's something to feed a goldfish or not. But since they don't have teeth, maybe they are not eating it because they can't bite off anything from the carrot. Maybe try breaking it into tiny chunks?
I hope your goldfish start eating what you offer them. Good luck!
