I updated the new Baths/Dips article to include more formulas to determine the salt amounts in dips so as to avoid possible mistakes. As well I added more about the dip process in general and how I use them, particularly for introduction of questionable marine fish (using a freshwater bath for them) Aquarium Answers; Fish Dips and BathsCarl

Thanks you very much for the update. I read it and found it EXTREMELY helpful. I benefited a lot from reading it.
But just one question, you said in a dip to slowly raise the salinity for nthe first 3 minutes. Does that mean adding salt to the water while the fish is in the bath? Or does that mean adding water premixed with salt to the bath? Because I have heard that adding salt directly to a tank without premixing it can be harmful. Though in my fish when I add salt directlty to the tank duringwater changes, I don't notice any ill effects.

Thanks for answering my question Carl. That's what I did with my fish while she was in the dip today.
