Orandas This is 'Blue' This is 'Buttercup' This is 'Sliver' See how good my Oranda's look after the illness. So, so, so much better!! My huge Pleco.....Hard to get a shot of so I got him in his 'home' (the tree) If you look in the rectangle, you can get an idea how large he is. He scares my daughter he's so big While I am sharing photos, this was my most prized Oranda (I lost him about a year ago). He won 3rd place in a photo contest with this photo. And lastly, my tanks 55 gallon 46 gallon - I took this photo during feeding and I have to put a divider in the tank to feed because of the Pleco. He gets a little aggressive with the Goldfish when they try to eat his food. By the way, I made that divider! 30 gallon

Your tanks look GREAT! So do your fish, especially the beautiful Red Cap Oranda (I am sorry you lost him ) As already noted, your photography is awesome and your DIY skills with the divider are also very handy! Carl

Beautiful pictures Stix! Your goldfish seem to have made a remarkable recovery! Great job treating them. If it just me or does your goldfish named "Blue" look like he/she has a green tint in that picture?

Thanks! Blue is quite the interesting fish! When I first got her she was about 1 1/2" and supposedly a blue oranda (hence the name blue) but she was a silver color. After a while the silver started lightening and she is actually a light blue/white color now. That coupled with the Furan 2 being treated in the tank, is giving her a greenish tint. Interestingly, she has never developed her cap like the other orandas have either.
Yes, they are doing quite well. Two of them still have a little red in the ends of their fins and are up and swimming about 98% of the time. They aren't bottom sitting anymore but they do still go and sit against the inside of the log (still hovering, but very low and tight against the side). Overall, I am very pleased and think they will continue to recover fully.

You're welcome. She seems like a very unique fish. I've never seen a blue goldfish (or goldfish with a blueish tint before.) Neat.

Thanks Supi! I really appreciate your comments. Especially right now while they are all having this black discoloration thing going on with them. I do miss my big Oranda so much too! Thanks again!

Thank you! I bought one of those logs a few years back and when I added more tanks I had the hardest time finding them again. My brother lives in New York and found one store by him that was able to order them for me. In fact, both the log and the green trees are made by the same company. My plecos really like the trees because one of the arms on the trees is closed and they can hide there during the day
