As most of you know i have 7 Angels in a 100 gal. This arvo i noticed my two smallest lip locking and colouring up. There blacks were WAY darker then usual and the orange bright as well. Surely this is not breeding behaviour but dominence ( as per there size) . Should i be worried???

I am not an expert on fish behavior, but I have seen immature fish pair off, as well dominance sparring can start quite young in Angels as per my observations with mine and my client's angels over the years.

Havnt seen any more locking of lips, or aggressive behaviour. Must have just been a one of for now i guess. What i am amazed at is i have 7 Angels in my 100 gal and they school. Yes school. Now given that a couple a getting to a 'adolecent' stage and even my smallest ones are colouring up great i think its bizare they still school. When i transfered my original Angels from my 40 gal to the 100 gal they were extremly scared!! It was so funny, theyd used the tiniest part of the tank (to used to the 40 i guess) Then slowly i got those two Angels 5 more friends and they have schooled quite close up untill that scuffle the other day. Its quite amazing to watch actully and it almost looks as thought the bigger Angels are protecting the smaller ones (from what i dunno lol). Anyway so they all back to their friendly fun loving selves and guess what...No more missing neons or rummynoses for AGES. Hopefully it stays that way but its unlikely. Angel
