Ok carl well i did a bath today with just mb and salt. Its a matter of doing what fish fever pretty much said and crossing my fingers now. I notice his gills turn quite blue after his bath does this mean its too strong or completely normal??? Im doing his baths in about 200ml of water so not much at all,. This can mean you have more Methylene Blue than normally used, however MB is quite safe even at larger than recommended dosages (unlike Malachite Green). However this can also mean (& is my guess) that your fish has lost much of his/her mucous slime coating that protects a fish due to disease/sores. Methylene Blue will easily stain these areas of the fish and this is OK as it protects from infection somewhat by doing so. Think of this "slime" coating as a humans skin, when your skin is injured/removed, you are easily open to infection. Carl

I'm sorry to hear that your loach died. As much as I love them I do have to admit that they are very prone to this sort of thing and once they start going down hill it it very hard to bring them back. Don't beat yourself up, you did your best and were a responsible fish owner. These things happen. I lost all of my clowns to a nasty staph infection even though I added medicines and gave them baths for weeks. I hope your other fish are OK.

Sorry your loach did not make it. Although he was in pretty bad shape (as per your pictures), hopefully you can treat the tank to prevent further spread. Consider soaking fish food in slurry of flakes water and Metronidazole as well for better internal medication absorption. Please do not forget a water change, and further change between any treatments Carl

That's great news! I'm glad no one else seems to be affected.
