I am a dedicated hobbyist and I keep mainly victorian cichlids and other africans. Keeping victorian cichlid has been a great experience, but has led to an addiction. I started out 3 years ago when I first laid my eyes upon a Haplochromis sp. ruby green on the internet and I now own Pundamilia Nyererei "Ruti Island", Xystichromis sp. Kyoga Flameback, Pundamilia sp. Crimson Tide, Paralabdichromis Chromoygynos (Thanks to Brenda), and getting more soon. I used to have many other species, but I failed to keep them alive when I first started out. I also own other cichlids such as Aulonocara Hansbaenschi "Fort Maguire" and an endangered species from Lake Bermin locared in Cameroon, Tilapia Snyderae. I want to thank Barbara and Brenda for inviting me to this forum.

sounds awesome now a question on you 3 actually, how about starting a thread, with all the different species you own, since you know them all by name and put them up with pictures, so we as the none knowers about victorians can get a feel for them? personally, for me it's easier to identify a fish name with a picture, what ya think?

Vinman and I were talking about this last week and when he was mentioning he was getting fish from there, I was like so you are actually going to drive over to NJ for a change? And he was like huh? Because we have Mcquire AFB and Ft. Dix here in NJ, I thought he just mixed the two and was getting fish from a seller there LOL. I figured out what he meant, so I just learned about that location last week. I also have the Tilapia Bythobates which look exactly like Snyderae but get bigger. I'm moving that stock out in 2 weeks.

Welcome Tydus! I'm sure you'll fit right in. There are other several other cichlid keepers on here such as Jon V and also Barbara and Brenda who invited you. Hope you enjoy EA. I'm sure you have plenty of good input on cichlid keeping we can learn from.
