so how much water do you think it's gonna take to transport 100 or so 1-1/2" platys to the fish store?

john...the store is pretty close...i`d use buckets with lids if you can or bags and a cooler. in bags .,i like half water and half air. the trip if i remember is less than an hour away. hit those gravel roads as well....the shaking water will also oxygenate it as well. a couple drops MB won`t hurt either...

store is less than an hour away - thanks guys - don't want to use bags - have no money for bags - temp outside is great - mis 70's this weekend - don't need styrofoam comtainers (which would be ideal however $$$ an issue again) have a lot of clean 5 gallon buckets w/ lids - have MB as well and chunks of wondershells - so bottom line, how many buckets? - if I fill them 3/4 full, that's almost 4 gallons - I have 30 gallons of tank water right now w/ the option for 30 more

platys are small.....i`d use 5 and divide the fish equally....

btw....in my big truck i hit the rumbble strips on the side of the highway every once in awhile for this reason. in this case it is probably un neccessary since i keep the oxygen levels at 10 ppm but i feel this helps....

thanks my friends - aeration should not be a problem - the roads here suck - it's the potholes I worry about more with them banging around.....I'm just a worrywort - have raised them since birth and want them to arrive in the condition I have cared for them all these months - I am very proud of them and how healthy they are

thanks everyone - yes, it is a lot of fish, and I imagine there'll be a lot more as I see babies in there as well - something I should have foreseen......at least the ones I'm selling are pure in strain unless they're holding fry from wherever.....

Great jonb at raising the fish John! So there are babies coming from the babies! Wow, you've got your work cut out for you!
Remember, the owner doesn't own the platy, the platy owns the owner. ....Therefore, you'll prbably continue to get platies for a long time more, especially if your babies are producing. XD
