I'm not necessarily against people making money off of their hobby. I am against people taking advantage of kindness, and the varity of certain species in the hobby. If I give you fish, I expect, and state, that at least one spawn needs to be donated somewhere. I can't control anything beyond that. My hope is that people will do the right thing, but it is so hard to tell. and i think that's a great idea

I think it's still important to use caution though especially since the aquarium hobby can be really cruel as well

well, thanks to you and barbara, it looks like i will get into the victorians i had never even heard about them before, much less known anything about them i really like their looks
the one i really like at the moment is the "kyoga gold"
what i also need to do, once i'm in my own place again, is finding out if there are any fishclubs nearby, and what they're about

i think this is a great topic, and pretty much deserves it's very own thread actually
anyway, looking at pics from victorians, one is more beautiful then the other one thing most of them seem to have in common, is that distinctive black line down their face, which gives them their personality look IMO
i think for me at the moment on how to choose them, would be can i offer them their habitat they need first of all and how endangered are they
i'm really not in for the money, i still see it as a great hobby and to be able to distribute new colony's of endangered species is one of my ultimate goals

awesome breakdown, thanks frank
bill- if i'm correct, and he has what craig put together, then there is a bucket with a switch going to the tank with a shut off valve, and definitely an airpump in the bucket, which is also covered

try the isle where you can get all the oils or vinegars or there might be a special isle with those oils where you still see the stuff in the bottole like garlic and stuff you can also make it yourself >How to make your own garlic oil<

sorry i didn't answer earlier, i was still thinking about it
the gouramis can work out or not, it's really hard to say with those
as for the yellows, if they're the same age and 2 of them are way smaller then the other one, then the chance is there that you have females
if it where me, i would most likely risk it just make sure you do it when it's light out and try to rearange your tank decor

my concern is that if you have no power to keep water circulating, the tank is going to environmentally collapse as a safe ecosystem - how is your last fish able to survive by moving him to anothr tank if you are still powerless? i took the risk on the other angelfish.i took the chance that maybe he would survive the transfer to the other tank.this morning it ate, after 2 days of not eating. that is great, i hope you soon get your power back what i would do is also doing 10% water changes daily until you have power again
