This morning I woke up to find one of my male bettas Critique looking very poorly. He would not eat and was clamping his fins. He also had a pinkish wound near where his anal fins meets his body that is visible on both sides. I tested the water this morning but there was nothing else I had time to do before school.
My readings were PH: 6.4 (I think it is actually higher, I got a misreading like that in my goldfish tankw ehn the PH was really 8.4.) KH: 100 GH: 120 Nitrate: 0 Nitrite: 0
And today after school I tested ammonia and it also came out to be 0.
Critique was fine yesterday morning when I fed him, he was his very active and his healthy self. But right now he is laying on the bottom and seems very weak. His wound is not any worse than this morning.
Near where his wound is, I thought I was a break in his fin a while ago. But right now the wound can be seen on both sides and is where his fin meets his body (a little on both his anal fin and body)
I still don't have a camera for pictures.
Any idea what this is?
Thanks!

Does the appear to be in the anus or very close?
Or does this look more like and injury?

No, it is where his anal fin meets his body, not near the vent. When I say anal fin I mean the long fin extending downward from a betta's body. The wound is at the start of the fin and also a little bit on his body. The wound is a good ways behind the vent. sorry, I am really bad at describing this. Is it making any more sense now?

This makes sense, but now I have another question; does this appear to be from and injury, such as another fish or the fish getting caught on some decor? I would definitely start with a Medicated Bath that includes some MB dropped directly on this sore. Melafix or Triple Sulfa in the aquarium is likely a good second step Carl

I am honestly not sure. I rarely have wounds on my fish and I'm afraid I don't know what this is from. How would I tell if it is from an injury?
For the medicated baths, it takes me about an hour to do a medicated bath with MB and clean up. I have tons of homework and not much time. What is the best thing I can do for him other than medicated baths? I know that is one of the best things I and do for him but right now I lack much time. Without MB baths, would you still recommend melafix or triple sulfa? I don't have triple sulfa in the house but I do have Melafix.

When you can do the bath I would, but the Melafix can only help in the mean time Carl

I added the Melafix. I think that he will make it as long as the wound doesn't get infected.
