Cool, I didn't think I was over stocked but then I'm always second guessing myself anyway! So carl you think I should have three filters in there? I have one sponge filter in there, plus the hob whisper? Or should I get rid of the whisper and get another sponge? I dont know about the potted plant... I wouldn't know how to add the plant food... No, I forgot you already had two filters, that should be fine. The Sponge Filter does have more bio capacity than the Whisper (by a considerable margin), however the Whipser provides good mechanical and chemiacal filtration that is a good compliment. You might consider the potted plant idea though, with something easy like a Java Fern, that way you would not need to add plant food or worry about lighting (although SeaChem has an excellent Flourish plant tablets that are simply added to the potted). Aquarium Plant Care/BasicsCarl[/quote] I have a java fern already, I did have it planted down in the gravel, but it had rooted pretty good , so now that I have taken out the gravel it still hangs down at the bottom, plus I have two little other pieces of it that have rooted, one hangs on the fake one, the other I have in my empty two gallon. Listening to everyone's advice, seems like I am doing every thing right, so maybe it is the fact it is just not cycled good yet ??although it has been several months... but then again that time my cardinals were dieing left and right, I changed almost all the water... in a few minutes so maybe it's not... sorry I am such a pest you guys!

You ARE doing well IMO, so please consider these as suggestions. ;D
The removal of the gravel and possibly some of the larger water changes effected your "bio balance".
I would suspect that your ammonia levels should return to 0 without too much effort on your part as long as you take care to not over clean the sponge filter and Whisper.

Very good points. I second your advice Carl. I should know with the first tank I ever cycled and what a headache that was.
