Hello, I’m new here. I want to setup a UV light for clarifying and sterilizing on my 65 gal freshwater tank. I have a fluval 407 and will install it on return. What is best wattage (vector brand?) for the flow rate on a 407? I could also install a second canister with slower flow rate, and install uv on that one. Any advise would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi there, Sorry for the delay! You can get a high level of sterilization with the Titan 550 15 Watt UV. That's level 2 sterilization, which is up to virus control. Clarification and bacterial. www.americanaquariumproducts.com/store/p3/Vecton-5%3A_Titan_550_15_Watt_PRO_UV.htmlYou'd want a flow about 180gph, so you'd want to really measure the flow where it returns back into the aquarium to know you're getting the correct flow. Higher flow will bring the sterilization down to like level 1. Installing it after a canister filter is a great idea. Just measure flow and use a diverter if need be. Here's plumbing parts if you need: www.americanaquariumproducts.com/plumbing.html
