I just had a clutch of mystery snails hatch and I was looking at them with a magnifying glass and I saw some very small black flea like bugs hopping on top of the water. You can’t see them with your naked eye. You can only see them with the high power part of the magnifying glass. I’ve had spring tails before and could see them without a magnifying glass. Any ideas on what these could be. The only thing in the tank is snails and plants. Thanks, Mark

I've seen them out in the ponds. Usually it's in low flow extras and sitting on plants. I'm not sure what they are. If your worried about them, you could do a bit of a water change and try and get them out.

Thanks, I guess I’ll leave them be and see what they do. I can only see them in the breeder box with the snails so maybe they will come out with it.

Turns out there not black. I forgot I bought a microscope for my phone. The leaf he’s on is duckweed.

Well they seem to be gone so I won’t worry about them again.
