Male Vieja fenestratus, 14+ inches 75 gallon tank alone Filstar canister 3 stage filtration I'll check WP
Just noticed a white fuzzy spot on the right fin of my big guy. Hoping it's nothing, as I have battled fungal infections in 2 large American cichlids that had no contact with one another, and killed one... Treatment plan- For now watch and wait. And take a ton of photos. If this turns into a full blown infection, I am doing something wrong.. Very wrong. But he will get baths daily in methalyne blue, malachite green and Epsom salt along with malachite green in tank..as well, I will strip all the driftwood and the small amount of gravel he Has. I'll be watching for nodules that are white, fin rot that progresses rapidly, lethargy, fuzzy and slimy covering of body. It will not harm another one of my fish! I know how to beat now thanks to Carl, Devon and some others and my personal experiences. *note -the spot it the size of a guppy eye. Lol

If you are doing separate baths, you might consider adding AAP/ StressGuard into his main tank. This is a non medication that will help the fish heal himself Carl

I'm not doing anything yet for him. I've seen spots like this come and go but that was before Meanie and Orinoco. Now, I check all the Fish over well with a flashlight during wc.
