I finally got Nemo into the MB bath after several minutes going after him/her. (I'm not good at capturing fish out of large tanks.) I prepared for the worst like what happened to my betta but nothing bad happened!! The fish wasn't even panicking, just swimming around kind of seeming to be asking me why I put it in there. I waited 5 minutes (I read to do it 5 minutes in Carl's article.) Then I put Nemo into a gallon container of fresh aquarium water and dumped as much as I could back into the medicated one and put Nemo back into the tank. Nemo seems quite active, like nothing ever happened. When I checked, I still saw a white spot of Nemo's tail after the MB bath. What I am thankful for is that Nemo is ok. (Sorry about thinking MB could kill my fish, it was just the betta. Must have been stressed over something else too.)
But I have a few+
questions, after a put Nemo into the container without MB, a tiny bit got in the 40. What happened poured some of the water (along with Nemo) from the MB bath water to clean tank water in another container. Then I added as little an amount as I could back into the 40. A minute amount of MB got into the main tank but I have a sponge filter and a pretty high power Whisper 40 Filter in there with a carbon. I know MB can kill beneficial bacteria. Since a tiny bit got in there, and I mean an amount that is a 1/2 cup of water with little MB in it, will it turn my tank at all? Also, since I am not planning on ever netting my fish during baths, a little will probably get in every time. Would it be ok if that happened?
Also, I saw one white spot on Nemo after the MB bath without looking over the fish tto hard plus I think maybe a few more. Is the ich supposed to come off instantly in the bath? I wouldn't think it would but I'm just wondering.
Thanks again! This fish owes ist life to you guys (and me XD) ;D
