looks like i have been living in a dream world... i just called the airline and they said that it would be possible to ship the fish as a check in
so i was advised to check with like fedex or soemthing... and it comes out to ship it overnight more than the fishes themselves... like 130 or something for a 10 pound box....
now what to do.... it would be cheaper if i did ground, but that is risky,,, 3-4 days in a truck... i know that fish can make it but carl i need your help on this one. list very thing i need. bag buddies and heat packs?

First you could try shrinking the volume of water to get weight down, also USPS Priority Mail might be worth considering, especially if you could you the Flat Rate Box (under $10 for a 11x8x5 box regardless of weight) If you move by vehicle, this can be done for this period of time (I HAVE done this). As you already noted you may need heat packs (a few) or cool packs in warm areas. Beside temperature, using an inverter to run an air pump or a battery (DC) air pump and even a small sponge filter along with a darkened container, Methylene Blue and finally treating this like a msall mobile aquarium and you will be fine. I tell you this much Chris, I'm surprised if you told Fed Ex you have fish, they are even taking them. Back in the late Spring early Summer time frame, I was sending a shipment of fish out, and Fed Ex saw what was in the box. I hadn't sealed it yet, and they refused and when I called them direct, they said by law, they are prohibited from shipping live fish. You might want to consider USPS express. Generally a pretty fast source and cheaper by what's charged by UPS or Fed Ex. Adding some meth blue to the water or some sort of stress reducer should work just fine. I've had several shipments of fish inbound to me that went even 4-5 days and still found them alive and doing well.
