Found this forum from somewhere on the AAP site or one of Carl's blog posts and figured I'd better sign up. Haven't been serious about aquaria since the mid-80's but recently something awakened my interest so I did some Googling, found the AAP site and here I am! Haven't set up a tank yet but I have a 45 cube waiting for me at the LFS as soon as I get the stand built. I'm going to do a planted community setup, something I always wanted but back in the day the lighting was just too much to deal with. Now it's not such a big deal, learned so much from Carl's article I feel I can handle it. I'll probably be asking a ton of questions pretty soon so please bear with me. Glad to meet you all(that's "y'all" where I come from ) ! Bill

Thanks, Carl. I've already learned a lot here and on your commercial site and blog. Knowledge is a wonderful thing, you give it to someone who needs it, it helps them and you still have it. Thank you for sharing, hope I can contribute as I learn.
Thanks as well for the quick shipment to my PayPal addy in GA, different email but the same Bill.
I haven't had a tank in 15 or so years, I'm excited about having another one.
Best, Bill

Thanks for the welcome Lori, good to meetcha!
Questions are bubbling in the Plant Forum, looking forward to hearing from you soon. I'm curious about "low-light" planted aquaria, seems like a contradiction in terms?
Best, Bill

I'm curious about "low-light" planted aquaria, seems like a contradiction in terms? Best, Bill Low Light plants...That don't require a lot of light to live and thrive. Java Moss and Fern are probably 2 of the best. They DO need light, but they are more like a "shade" plant.
