I keep seeing ads for Extreme Aquatic Foods in Tropical Fish Hobbyist. Has anyone ever tried it? They don't sell it in any stores around here so I'd have to order it online, but it looks like a pretty good food. It's not cheap either, but you get a big container of it, so in the long run it may not be too bad. $20 for an 18 oz jar of community food. www.xtremeaquaticfoods.com/pops/pops_crave.htmlI sent away for a free sample, but never got it.

I have not seen it advertised in any industry journals, it could be a direct product. Most importantly, looking at the ingredients, it looks to be a very good product. That said, there are already other similarly good products available. Such as: * HBH Tropical Flake Frenzy*Omega Fish Foods ( although I have a problem with how Omega has conducted business by using many professionals to get their product on the market then "throwing them under the bus") * Hikari Micro WafersAs well as Spirulina 20 (a different formula though) and many others. I got my first jar of Spirulina 20 from Carl late last week. My fish love it. I had no issues with them not wanting to eat it.

I used Spirulina 20 as well. I just bought some HBH algae flakes from Carl as well (btw, thanks Carl - package arrived today!)
I was actually thinking more along the lines of a sinking wafer (I know I posted the wrong link, lol) - something big enough for my pleco to graze on, and too big for the piggy tetras and angel to pop in their mouths. The flakes don't last too long with all those Colombian tetras! Right now I'm using one from Ocean Nutrition, I believe. It's pretty popular with my cories and SAE.

I use Omega - for my goldies i feed em the large pellets, I find if I try anything else by fancy fat belly one gets an upset stomach and turns upside down.
I also use the spirulina flakes, but I never never seen or heard of that xtreme food up here in Canada. There's also several really good brands of algae waffer foods out there, I think I use HBH for my pleco but don't remember lol

I have tried the HBH algae wafers in the bag. There was a reason why I didn't buy them again, but I don't remember now. Maybe the fish didn't like them...? Hmmm... :/

The HBH are actually the better and more true Veggie/Algae wafer of the two I mentioned. The Hikari has fish meal as its number 1 ingredient and therefore I believe this makes it a more attractive food to many fish (although not necessarily better) You are not the only one who has noted this, but then the same fish would take the Hikari brand Hikari Algae Wafers Ingredients:Ingredients: fish meal, wheat flour, wheat germ meal, starch, dried seaweed meal, dried bakery product, alfalfa nutrient concentrate dehydrated, dehydrated alfalfa meal, brewers dried yeast, soybean meal, fish oil, krill meal, spirulina, garlic, DL-methionine, chlorella, astaxanthin, choline chloride, vitamin E supplement, L-ascorbyl-2-polyphosphate (stabilized vitamin C), inositol, calcium pantothenate, riboflavin, vitamin A oil, thiamine mononitrate, pyridoxine hydrochloride, niacin, menadione sodium bisulfate complex (sourse of vitamin K), folic acid, vitamin D3 supplement, biotin, disodium phosphate, ferrous sulfate, magnesium sulfate, zinc sulfate, manganese sulfate, cobalt sulfate, calcium iodate.HBH Algae Wafers Ingredients;Spirulina Algae, Dehydrated Alfalfa Meal, Soy Flour, Wheat Flour, Fish Meal, Shrimp Meal, Brown Rice Flour, Wheat Starch, Fish Oil, Wheat Germ, Carrot Powder, Spinach Powder, Kelp Meal, Brewers Dried Yeast, Glycerin, GSoybean Oil, Hydrated Sodium Calcium Aluminosilicate, Soy Lecithin, Citric Acid, Glucono-delta-lactone, Natural Mixed Tocopherols (presvervative), Rosemary Extract, L-ascorbyl-2-polyphoshate (Vitamin C), Vitamin A Acetate, Choline Chloride, a-Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Niacin, d-Calcium Pantothenate, Riboflavin, Thiamin, Biotin, Pyridoxine HCL, Folic Acid, Menadione Sodium Bisulfate complex, D-Activated Animal Sterol (Vitamin D3), Vitamin B12 Supplement, Zinc Proteinate, Copper Proteinate, Manganese Proteinate, Iron ProteinateCarl

Besides Carl, I'm not sure if everyone has tried all these foods. Omega. HBH, Spirulina 20, Hikari... my fish love them all. lol Btw, very good comparison Carl. I have HBH wafers in the house. I like that they are easy to break up. The only issue is they seem to break up fast in my fish tanks leaving small bunches algae wafer "dust" behind. I'm pretty sure that is what I see at least after feeding HBH algae wafers. lol Other than that, it is great and the fish LOVE it!
