Here are some silly things about fish I have noticed/encountered from my own personal experience in keeping fish.
1. Fish gets caught in a net trying to get food from it. I have had to feed fish that were not getting enough food at times in nets. This proved to be more than other fish watching could take. Sometime they have overcome their fear of the net. When this happens, they try to suck food through the net as I am feeding the isolated fish in the net and even try to get into it and even get stuck in it if I leave it in the tank. I don't do this anymore because it is stressful for a fish in a large net to be fed this way and also the comedic way the others try to get the. They can literally "catch" themselves. lol
2. Blind goldfish trying to nibble at siphon: Last time I siphoned its tank, my blind goldfish Oranda started trying to follow the siphon I was using around the tank as if it thought it was food. I wiggled the siphon a bit to mimic swimming prey and surprisingly enough, the fish went after it! O.O This was surprising, though with closer analysis, Oranda was detecting the water movement caused by the siphon with its lateral line and sensory pits.
3. Marks on your hand are food. I have seen many guppies on numerous occasions (they are 1 1/2 inches or less) try to nibble at tiny beauty marks on my arm and wrist. If it was safe to put on dots on your hand and arm using magic marker and putting your arm in a fish tank, this would be a fun way to "tease"guppies. (Not too much of course).
