Has anyone ever had experience, with the 42 watt model 36 retrofits from Ecoxotic. Mainly interested in if it can grow hard corals in a 90 gallon tank, and its area of illumination. If you can post pics or video that would be awesome.

I have not personally used it, however a few of my Aquarium Maintenance contact have (one who is really good with lights) As well I am quite familiar with the emitters used and they are not from high end emitter bins and thus require more watts to do the same job as much better high end Cree emitters used by the TMC AquaRay emitters. The bottom line is I would avoid these LED lights (as well the Ecoxotic Panorama Retro 36 has some serious patent infringment issues and personally I would never do business with such a company). They are not the best for raising coral, the TMC AquaRay are vastly better Please read these articles: * Aquarium Lighting Facts & Information (especially the Useful Energy Section) * LED Aquarium Lighting* LED Light ReviewCarl
