Those are just awesome! I LOVE the puffer. I really wasn't familiar with the species so I looked it up. Frankly, not a whole lot of information out there on these guys. I didn't find anything about what would go well with them, just mostly what not to put them. Everything I found said that they will fight with other puffers, eat invertebrates and are not good in a reef tank. They really cute but it almost seems like you'd have to have a species tank for them. Why are all puffers so darn aggressive? Do they feel like they need to make up for their jovial appearance by being holy terrors in the tank? lol

The fish look great. The pictures of the puffers look like they might have been taken from the ocean, not an aquarium. Those are some great fish!

Nice pics Bill! Generally I have found the Green Chromis the most mild personality of the damsels, with less fighting when low numbers are kept. My only issue is more with me, when cleaning aquariums I have sadly missed these poor guys hiding deep inside decor and accidentally killed a few of them over the years (they hide so well) I recently added a Koran Angel and Yellow tang to a tank I keep up for a friend here in town; I find these relatively easy to keep and quite beautiful and personable (especially the Koran Angel) Carl

i have done a lil looking on this puffer. they stay small and it is said they are fine in reefs...my only concern is setting up a cleaning station because they will eat the shrimp. other than that...this guy is filled with personality. i have 3 snails in there...1 is nearly half the size of your fist. the lil chromis are neat to and i will keep them as a dither. my next addition is gonna be a coral beauty and a small tang. i know the CB can be a lil mean...that is why he`ll be the last added. I am loving this marine thing and relearning absolutely everything. Boy is fish keeping fun.

i have done a lil looking on this puffer. they stay small and it is said they are fine in reefs Sorry if I had some misinformation on the puffer. All of the sites I looked at said they were not reef safe but then again they seemed to all directly quote or paraphrase the same article. I think we all know around here how bad information about aquarium fish can be spread around the internet. I'm so glad that you're having so much fun with your new marine set up. I'm so jealous, some day I so want to go salt!

I have kept these "Sharp Nosed Puffers" & I would concur that these puffers will pick and snack on corals and other delicate reef inhabitants, however these fish generally mix in fish communities quite well. These guys also have really cool personalities

I guess I wasnt quite complete. they will snack on the smallest of corals....but have read they wont bother with anenomes. i want more anenomes than corals....but i wont be able to set up a shrimp cleaning station. going to have to try cleaner wrasses or something. little baby steps i guess.also in the pics...there is a pic of glass anenomes which are a pest and will soon have to be culled as we add anenomes. cant wait for my next addition.....the coral beauty then the yellow tang...

Best of luck with everything in there. Love yellow tangs. They're so vibrant!
