Hi. I am feeding my goldfish Neomycin in my 40 gallon for internal parasites (soley for Foneme actually). This fish is losing weight very slowly either from being a weak fish, internal parasites or another reason.
Anyway, I fed it to them for 3 days in a row as the bottle says. But I wish to continue feeding it to them after this. (I am also feeding them Jungle Anti-Parasite pellets in combination with teh Neomycin)
The anti-parasite food I will be feeding for abotu 4 days in a row and then skipping 3 before resuming for 4 weeks.
I would prefer to continue the Neomycin for this long also if possible.
So to the question: How long should I wait after finishing the 3 day treatment for the Neomycin before resuming?
Also, is it a good idea to feed them Neomycin for 4 weeks (with breaks after the normal 3 day period in between of course) or could it hurt them?
Last, (sorry about so many questions), if the fish only some ingests the Neomycin I give it, will it still be enough to cure any problem?
Foneme eats the Neomycin (though a bit hesitantly) and some of the others nibble it up as fast as possible.
I really want to eliminate any possible parasites and give it my all to save this fish.
Thanks.
Renee

Yes, you can resume the Neomycin medicated food feeding after 3 days off, but no more than 3 Neomycin feeding sessions in a 6-8 week period.
Even though these are medicated foods, much of the medication ends up in the water via waste and breakdown, so a partial water change in every 3-5 days is a good idea as well.

Thanks for clarifying Carl. I did not know that it broke down as waste if it was not consumed. I'll up my water changes as needed.
