Sorry Carl, I don't know where I came up with it being an ammonia removing product?
Anyway, now that you've told me it should have been removed, I would think it impacted my medicated Wonder Shell from doing its job during the addition of the new fish.
I will pull it from now on. Although I am puzzled at my nitrate numbers since that was supposed to help with nitrate. I have ordered the Algone from you (yesterday). Going forward I will use that product.
I added the Seachem stability after my water change tonight (along with Prime), to help with the nitrates. But the directions say to turn off the UV. Should I do that while I am trying to treat sick fish?
Did you think I should do anything about the high KH, GH, PH, etc.?

I know that turning off your UV while treating is a good idea because it will reduce the effectiveness of the medications. Just trying to help any way I can.

Thanks guys! Dang it!!! That means I have been mostly wasting my medication efforts. First with the Clearmax and now with the UV.
Ok. Here are my test results from tonight, 11/14:
GH - 180 (although the box was purple, not blue, and there is no purple on the color chart.
KH - 240
PH - 7.5
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - Looked to be between the 40 and the 80. It was not really either color.

So just for grins and giggles, I tested my other healthy thank and my tap water. My healthy tank: GH - 180 KH - 240 PH - 7.5 Nitrite - 0 Nitrate - 40
My tap water readings: GH - 180 KH - 240 PH - 8 Nitrite - 0 Nitrate - 40

Thanks for the test kit readings, including the tap water as a baseline. At most what I get from your readings (which includes the tap water baseline), is that you have a moderate to high bio load since your pH and KH start out high, but seem to drop as well as a moderate but still safe nitrate level. I was pretty sure my water parameters were not the issues. Since finding your store and the forum, I have done everything possible to have a healthy aquarium. The use of Prime, Stability, Purigen, UV lighting, Wonder Shells, etc.
I have a Hydro Sponge II on my smaller 10 gallon filter now, as well as upgraded the HOB filter to one of your recommendations. I also just ordered a new HOB with Hydro Sponge from your store as a 2nd filter for the 20 gallon that has the fish with pop eye.
Last question: I just finished the 3rd day of treatment. But since I had my UV on until this 3rd one, and I had the Clearmax in for a while as well, do you think I should do one or 2 more doses?
I have been doing the water change prior to each dose and putting the Purigen in for an hour or 2 prior to the water change as well.

I do not think so either, as the parameters did not indicate any drastic changes. My suggestion is that the bio load still might be lowered a bit, sometimes with just cutting back with the amount fed or the food used. Yes Good idea Regards; Carl

Thank you Carl, it is good to know I am on the right track!
So, now I lied!!! Based on your responses, one more question:
I am feeding the Spirulina 20 from your store, but I also add weekly algae wafers and shrimp pellets that drop straight to the bottom for my little cories. Should I stop doing the algae and shrimp?

The algae wafers do not pollute much if not over used, so just make sure these are eaten within the day. Shrimp pellets are healthy for the fish, but these can also pollute quickly is not consumed quickly. So maybe cut back by 30% or simply make sure these are eaten within an hour or two Carl
