found a lady who just inheritd a 55 gallon tank - got rid of the oscars that were in it - has 3 angels, don't know how big....wants 15 of my platys - any thoughts here? they are to entertain her 4 year old autistic son so I'd prefer not to cause any potential trauma

I have done well with many different Gouramis, Rainbows, Danios, Tetras (that are a bit larger such as Red Minor, Black Phantom, Buenos Aires, etc.), Rasboras. Although not traditional for some (including water native water conditions); I have also mixed angels with Swordtails, Mollies and Platys. Buenos Aires Tetra: Black Phantom Tetra: Carl

I don't see any problems putting platies with the angels

Um...not to be a party pooper but with three angelfish isn't there the potential for the two to gang up and kill the third once they're older?
And John, I know this is anecdotal, but a friend of mine has a big angelfish in with mollies, skirts, platys, and guppies. The only fish the angel has ever gone after when she tried to add another angel.

depends on the sex of the angels I would think - I am going out there to make sure there's an acclimation process and first and mostly, I want to see a chance for compatability - get to spend some time w/ a 4 year old too! and it's a boy! may make a deal for the oscar and get that off her hands - know a guy who has a 150 full of them - point well taken btw, thanks

i put a male and female Betta in my community tank, and they all are getting along fine... I was scared at first and watched them like a hawk but so far so good, mollies, cherry barbs, gourami, harliguin rasbors, now beta's hmmmmm, My tetra's are still in a tank with other mollies (and by the way are getting HUGE) i swear I think I have some carp instead.... ;D and one gourami But anyway when ever i have my dream tank i will put them all together! maybe...... think tetra's with their calm dispositions will do ok with the rest?
