recently transferred my cory cat fish and my golden dojo into the new tank and since they have been in there they have been laying on their sides. they are active when they want to be. they still do what they did when they were in the ten gallon tank but just not as often. so i was wondering if that was a normal thing for them to do since they havent been in there more then a few days. are they still getting use to the bigger tank or could they be stressed out? they are eating and stuff like that. just not to sure why all of them are laying on their sides. aslo is the current to strong for them in the tank? is that a reason why they are on their sides?
thanks lana

it could be anything....can you take a pic of the new tank showing filtration etc...?could be a current issue....maybe an oxygen issue....who knows....

my first concern was not enough disolved oxygen in the water but that obviously isnt the problem..can the filter be adjusted to cause a lil less current? how long have they been this way??? for the time being watch them closely

Yeah, water conditions can tell a lot. Are they all that is in the tank? Were there more fish in the 10 gallon? If so, could it be something as simple as they used to have more friends so they felt more comfortable? Also, when you transfered them, how did you do this? Did you just net them from one tank and put in the other? If so, is the temperature different between the 2 tanks? I am just trying to throw a lot of things out there so maybe we can get to an answer for you.

i acclimated them with a gallon with the top cut off. for 2 hours doing 1/2 cup water entries every 15 minutes.
they had a few other companions in the 10 gallon tank.
i have the filter adjusted as low as it goes.
and theyve been like this for the last 2 days.
and no murdock i broke my lid soo i need to get a new one i orderd it and have to pick it up on tuesday.
i will replace the light when i get the lid.
water conditions are normal and i do 1/4 water changes every weekend.

just as i expected your fish are highly stressed you won't get a right ammonia reading as you're using prime have you tested nitrites since the transfer? i would do a 25% water change or even a 50% water change as quick as possible and set your filter on the highest flow level, not the lowest you can't just keep it down to a 25% weekly while the tank is cycling a 25% water change, is required every 3-4 days while the tank is cycling with the fish

i just did 25% water change and gravel suction on the 10 gallon.
did 50 percent water change left the gravel alone. on the 28 gallon.
everyone still seems the same.
thanks eve.
