Those are very cool!!! Wasn't sure what newts looked like. They remind me of salamanders.

Aye, they ask me questions daily about them. Thanks. Newts are very cool. It looks like a great set-up for them. What kind of food do you give them?
We have a bunch of frogs at work and they all eat crickets, as do most of the lizards (some get veggies). We don't have any newts, though. John

Hi, 8! I was told to give them freeze-dried bloodworms, but they floated, and the newts were looking around the bottom for food. Almost like they could smell them but couldn't find them. So I went to shrimp pellets and frozen brine shrimp. They loved the latter.

My fish only get them as treats or if I am conditioning them especially for spawning. I also give frozen bloodworms (I thaw them in a cup of tank water so they sink) once or twice a week.

Thanks so much, 8 in the Corner! I didn't know bloodworms were available in a frozen state. I had been trying the freeze dried, and of course, they float. I'll get some frozen ones soon! Thanks again. (by the way, my fish get frozen brine shrimp as a treat as well: I'm a teacher, can't afford those all the time).
