Very beautiful fish. I wish i could have one. lol You had a very interesting fact about them in their profiile, that when the fry are first born, they live feed on their parent's slime coat. i wonder how that works... It also makes me wonder if that is how other mouthbrooders feed their young.

funny you have done a profile on them. i have been looking for them here in calgary for a few months. i think it would be beautiful alongside my vieja and amphilonsi.....

Although I have not kept the Uaru in near the numbers as the Severums, I have always liked them and many of my clients thought the same. I am not sure how hard they are to find in Calgary, but for me they were relatively common in the 80s, but became more hard to find into the 90s. Carl
