"Fish Corner" (as my family calls it) My 10 gallon: - 3 Angels - 3 Platys - 5 Neon Tetra's (have some sort of mouth fungus I'm currently treating) - 1 very very shy pleco (Picture is on the full tank shot - he is on the wood) - 1 Chinese sucker (or something) fish that I saved my sister's Betta from She had him in with her Betta, and I looked in there and he was attached to the Betta's tail! I hurried and transfered him over to my 10 gallon. My sister's Betta tank I'm looking after: - Full shot in the first picture (hard to see) - 1 Betta My 55 Gallon - Plants

I like your Fish Corner ;D
I once had a "fish room" at a previous address (with racks of aquariums)
Your 55 is coming along VERY nicely too.

tanks look very very nice! I see what you mean more clearly now w/ your neons - looks like more than one has the problem - I love neons for their color, but for me personally, every time I add them to a tank against my better judgement, something goes wrong and those beautiful little buggers are either the cause or the alarm, like a canary in a coal mine.....

Nice tanks. Is that a clown pleco you have in the 10g?

Very nice. I love your pictures! Just curious but is that too many fish for a 10 gallon? I've never kept a tropical community tank before like you have in your 10 gallon. I wonder how stocking goes you have a coomunity tank.

Thanks for all the compliments I got my sponge filter today! WOO HOO!!! Brenda - As for the plants in the 55 gallon, I dont know about a lot of them actually... The only ones I know is the Green Wendtii, and I have the other cards for the other plants I have, but I don't know where they are. (When I find the cards I'll post them in here) Murdock - I don't know what their problem is... I am treating it with Melafix, and I hope it works... poor fishies Kagome - It probably is, and I know this is bad but I just put it in there because it was in my sisters tank, and attacking her betta, so I hurried and put it in my tank, and I don't know anything about it :S goldenpuon - I'm pretty sure I do have to many fish for my 10 gallon, but I'm going to transfer the three angels over to the 55 gallon after it gets cycled. I'll maybe add 2 or 3 more platys, and then go to town with the 55 gallon. Quite truthfully I don't really know that much about stocking as far as size goes, just that the fish have to get along.

I am treating it with Melafix, and I hope it works... poor fishies I will admit I cannot positively ID this problem. however even though Melafix certainly has its uses, it is mostly for antiseptic purposes after injury or similar, it has little actual medicinal value as a treatment. Assuming good water parameters and salt as well, I would consider Kanamycin and/or Nitrofurazone. As well, LOWERING the temperature below 75 would also help since this appears to be "cotton wool mouth" which is a another name for ColumnarisCarl

If he's as little as I think he is, the sucker guy that you rescued the betta from looks like an otocinclus. They're really quite harmless. I used to have some and every now and then I would see them trying to attach themselves to a tankmate, but the other fish always ran away before he could get to them, lol. They're great algae eaters, and only grow to about 2 inches.

could be an SAE or an CAE as well - never had an oto.....

CAE is a good possibility, John. The one is Kassidi's pic doesn't look like my SAE - mine has a stripe all the way through it's tail. As time goes on, if it gets bigger and more aggressive, then it's probably a CAE. If it stays little and peaceful, then it's mostl likely an oto. CAE's are more known for trying to suck on other fish than otos too...

Wow, yet another splurge shopping trip. Except this one included the fun stuff! FISH!!! WOO HOO!!! Okay, I bought a feeder gold fish to test out the water in my fish tank about a week ago, and I added him in there. He did just fine, so today I went out and bought some fish! I put the 3 angels over in the 55 gallon today also, and the male platy (he just kept bothering the females) I also added 7 more neon tetra's to the 10 gallon. So heres my tanks now... 10 Gallon: 12 Neon Tetra's 2 Female Platys 1 Clown Loach 55 Gallon: 1 Gold Fish 1 Platy 3 Angel Fish 3 Sword Tails 3 Julii Catfish 2 Pearl Gourami 2 Powder Blue Gourami 2 Red and Blue Gourami 1 Pleco (from the 10 Gallon) I'll add pictures later. Everyone seems to be getting along just fine, andthey are all doing great YAY!

Oh yeah! I also got fish insurance, it costs 20% of the fish total, and if they die within 10 days, you can get them replaced, or get in store credit. Another thing... I got some "Triple Sulfa" caplet, and it has a capsul that you break open and put in the tank. So I got those for my tetra's mouth issue. I also got some Flourish Excel, for my live plants. I added 3 cap fulls, as opposed to the recommended 5, because I don't want to overdose the tanks. And the last thing I forgot... I got my very own betta! He has his own bowl, and he is blue and white. He is really pretty. I am going to upgrade his tank when I get paid again. This concludes my shopping trip. lol

Great job! Beware though of adding too many fish at once to a new tank. I've done this by accident and had a tougher time with cycling. But of course if they are doing fine, don't worry about it too much. Congratulations on your new fish! I bet you are very happy with your 55 gallon!

Sounds like a lot of fun! Julii cories are so cute. They're my favorite. I have actually managed to keep one alive for a several months now! (knocks on wood)

I really love my aquarium now! All the fish try to aviod the current of the filter though... they are all very pretty and they get along well with eachother, but I'm still watching... My Julii cories are one of my favorites. My dad said "hey lets get those!" and I was like "Uhh, their ugly..." but they add such a great personality to the tank because they will hurry and swim to the top, and gulp some air, and follow eachother around. I think I am going to add just a few more angels, and call it good
