My moss ball has fallen apart and I can’t tell if it’s dead. It’s 4 years old and has been in a tank with one Betta who died about a month ago. The Betta was about 5. Had them in about 74 degree water no filter or heater. What should I do? Tried one overnight in the refrigerator and added salt to the tank. He was looking like this before the fish died. Any help appreciated.

Hi!
Carl's suggestions are great. I would just do away with the moss balls for now. Actually, last year it was found they were harboring parasites for the whole hobby and it was a big deal. I don't know if it was ever resolved. I would more look into parameters for the health issue with the fish though.
