I have a 20 gallon tank that has Juvenile X.Clemencia Swordtails. They have become Sick. The pigmentation begins to darken in certain areas and progresses until they die.there are no sores or any other symptom. I have seen this once before and was able to treat successfully by using Spectrogram. Sadly this product is no longer available… thanks Joe Joe the clown. I have attempted to treat with Kanaplex and Nitrofurazone… unsuccessfully.
Current Water Parameters are Ammonia 0… Nitrate 0 and Nitrite 15…ph 7.4 temp 74.5 F. The other parameters requested by Carl are unknown… because I have no equipment to measure them.
Currently the system is being filtered by a canister filter the is turning the tank 3 times a hour…water changes by 1/3 every other day. This helps account for the low ammonia and nitrate readings.

Thank you, Carl. I ordered AAP Yellow Powder last week and Kannaplex. The order came in. Unfortunately the box that was labeled Kannaplex actually had a Metroplex vial. I will reorder the Kanaplex. Any suggestions regarding dosages? The fatality rate has begun to escalate. Out of 40 Juveniles I have 20 that still live.
I just ordered the suggested test strips. .

Have you contacted AAP as per the Kanamycin issue? info@americanaquariumproducts.com I would follow dosage instruction provided on AAP Yellow Powder page www.americanaquariumproducts.com/Aquatronics.html#furacyn

No, I haven’t contacted AAP regarding the packaging error. I will use the Metroplex eventually. I believe the quickest way to get the kanaples is to simply reorder and not worry about returns. I followed the dosage recommendations on the packet of yellow powder last night when I treated the tank. Do I follow the doesage recommendation for the Kannaplex as well, when I receive it?

Yes, From the AAP Yellow Powder Page: USE: Add 1 packet to each 125 NET Gallons. Very concentrated and strong, so often one treatment is needed. Can be safely doubled, especially with coldwater fish. Treat again in 3 days if needed (after 20%+ water change) If combined with AAP/SeaChem Kanaplex, still treat only once while treating with Kanaplex every other day and re-treat with AAP Yellow Powder after 3 days if needed.

Looks like Carl has this covered. You're in good hands. I would just make sure to follow his advice 100% for best outcomes.
