I think since nitrogen is simply an element that makes up amino acids/proteins, it would not make a difference.
This would be similar to calculating Oxygen, hydrogen, or carbon in fish foods too

How come only AAPs website or food mentions nitrogen free extract in the guaranteed analysis? Is it optional? and How does its value tie in with the food?

This is simply part of an animal feed analysis.
Why TMC would use this I honestly am not sure, as this is not normally used in fish foods. Either way the Fish Nutrition article addresses all known important aspects of fish nutrition and I would not let one unusual analysis distract you

Its in the Nutra Shot Guaranteed Analysis. This is what I found. "Nitrogen-free extract (NFE): Consisting of carbohydrates, sugars, starches, and a major portion of materials classed as hemicellulose in feeds. When crude protein, fat, water, ash, and fiber are added and the sum is subtracted from 100, the difference is NFE." From what I know, when you add up the % of ingredients, most foods will not add up to 100%, so we assume the remaining amount is the carbohydrates, sugars, starches. The Nutra Shots are just including it on the label, which is nice. If you check many other foods, they will not add up to 100%, which will let you how much carbohydrates, sugars, starches it has.
