Hi, I hope everyone is healthy and surviving the pandemic OK. I have a 5g tank with blue neocaridina shrimp. I have had a small amount of planaria (they are definitely planaria, shovel head & crossed eyes) in the tank and my shrimp have slowly died off. I thought I had gotten rid of the planaria using a "trap" but tonight I found another one dead. I put it into a plastic container and a little while later was looking at it with a magnifying glass and there crawling around was a small planaria worm! and the little thing was blue due to it's dining on my poor shrimp. So on to the question, I have PraziPro on hand, is it safe to use with shrimp and will it kill the Planaria? I am bummed because I have gone from 6 adults (3 were berried females) to 50 + shrimplets and now I am down to 4 not even fully grown juveniles I don't think the Planaria are to blame for all of the deaths, I also had a heater malfunction and lost a lot from that. I was hoping to rebuild the colony but I guess I will need to resort to killing the Planaria with a chemical first... Suggestions appreciated, Stay safe and healthy!

I think the planaria are just taking advantage of the decay matter of the shrimp? Maybe a good clean? Thanks for the articles, I had read them. I still am not seeing if PraziPro is safe to use with shrimp, it looks like it will kill the Planaria I'm just wondering if it is safe to use with my last 4 shrimp.
Also the dosage of "1 tsp for 20 gallons" at "a single treatment lasting 5-7 days is normally sufficient" Does that mean dose once and leave it in the tank for 5-7 days then do a water change or does it mean to dose the tank daily for 5-7 days? The bottle's instructions aren't clear.
My understanding it that Planaria are capable of killing shrimp as well as going for dead shrimp. The shrimp have all seemed perfectly healthy and then suddenly one is dead.
The tank is clean, params are: NitrAte 0 Nitrite 0 GH 300 (wonder shell chip) KH 20 PH 7 TDS 250

I would think it would have to be an infestation? One dose of PraziPro last the 5-7 days, then you can think about another treatment. The second treat is usually required. I think there is some risk to the shrimp, so I don't know if it's the right choice.
