On my marine aquarium, I was thinking about using a Vortex a few hours a week. What do you think about using it? Also which model

Welcome to EA! I've used these filters going back to the mid 70s, although in the 80s the convertible Magnum filter replaced it for many including myself. These are best used as a cleaning filter, not run constantly as they are primarily a polishing filter, especially after a disease treatment These still do not take the place of water changes and use of mineral Cation replenishing products such as fresh AAP Wonder Shells is advised after use I used the D1 model primarily but the Diatom Model "DFF" Freedom Filter is more user friendly model IMO Carl

Agree with Carl. I personally only managed on a clients tank. Still needed water changes and minerals. I would suggest the Sealab block over the wonder shell for you marine tank.
