Poor fish. My husband was getting the fish's bath ready last night while I pulled together medications and he forgot to dechlorinate the water. I can't blame him. His mom is dying and he just wasn't thinking clearly. We both have so much on our minds with trying to pull together all that is needed to travel out of town and make sure our farm is taken care of. Needless to say, the fish didn't make it. I realized what had happened within a couple of minutes, but it was too late. We both feel terrible. It's a shame because the fish was still strong and had a fighting chance. The infection had stopped spreading and showed small signs of improvement.

Oh no! I'm so sorry that happened! And with everything else you've got going on, too.
Don't beat yourselves up about it. It sucks when they die and you know it was because of something that slipped by you. We've all had that happen.
Bless his heart. I'm so sorry about his mom.

I don't think our house sitter can do the baths while we are gone, unfortunately, especially since he is a jumper. Can methylene blue be added to the Polyguard in the quarantine tank? If so, would that be done daily, every other day? How much? If we stick with the PolyGuard it will have to be for another week until we return home because I don't think the house sitter can completely empty the water to change medications. Tomorrow will be the third PolyGuard treatment. Thanks again for your help. Yes, just make sue you have a healthy bio filter, as MB can compromise a weak bio filter. Use MB at standard tank dose as per package of the product you have (whether Kordon or AAP MethyBlu) Carl
