i got home from work today and found my angel fish have spawned. They seem to be good parents so far. Haven’t seen them eat any and they are fanning the eggs constantly. I guess I better learn how to breed brine shrimp in a hurry! Attachments:

Any other fish in the tank to stress the parents?

Any other fish in the tank to stress the parents? Carl There were a couple corydoras in there but I moved them, and a big mystery snail. Not sure if the snail would be a problem, but I didn’t want to take a chance. There all wigglers now. I guess I’ll see in a few days how many make it to swimmers. The parents have been really good for first timers. Except they bite if you stick your hand too close.

Congrats!
Often first time Angel parents are not so good, but you've obviously done well here!

Well I seem to be seeing fewer wigglers every time I look. I don’t think it’s the parents since I see them blowing them back a lot. I really wasn’t ready for this but I hope some of them make it. I’m starting brine shrimp tonight just in case.

Congratulations!
Sometimes it can take the parents a few spawns to get it all figured out.
I love how we take care of our fish, buy them a bunch of stuff, maintain their tanks, feed them, and then they bite us every chance they get! They're like children you're not allowed to ground!

It looks like I’m going to have quite a few swimmers soon. The parents moved them into a crack in the driftwood so there may be more left than I thought. I can see there eyes now and there starting to jump around. Brine shrimp are hatched and ready to go. I’ve been feeding them to my danio fry in the meantime and have started another batch. It certainly is fun watching the changes every day. I also just saw I have two dream blue shrimp that are berried.

The angels are starting to swim and momma didn’t like me watching them and moved them all to the other side of the driftwood. I guess she thought I wouldn’t notice. I found tiny little shrimp babies today in the blue tank. I already have a batch of red cherry shrimp in another tank. I don’t know what I’m going to do when work picks up again? I’m going to be busy.

Well, my angel fish decided it was time to spawn again and started eating the fry. I was able to save about 40 or so I think. I moved them into a 20 gal for now.

Sorry you lost some but at least now you can keep a better eye on the ones in the 20 gallon. It's crazy how that instinctual switch about eating fry turns on and off. It's always amazed me that they don't eat fry while they raise them, but then it just switches off with a new spawn.

Well, be careful what you wish for. I just had my proven angel fish pair spawn again and at almost the same time a new pair in the 75 gal spawned. I had to pull them out immediately because there’s too many quick fish in that tank. I have to get a bigger grow out tank started immediately.

Well, looks like no more angel fry for now. The ones I took out of the community tank I put in a jar with methylene blue and a air stone. I had a 100 watt bulb next to the jar. After an hour or so the temp was starting to drop so I put cardboard around the tank and went to bed. The next morning the temp was over 90deg. They all turned white. The other eggs got really bad fungus but I saved about 60 or so that turned into wigglers but this morning they were all gone. O well, I’m getting too busy to have three different broods going at once.
