So, now that photobucket wants $300 a year to hotlink photos, I'm messing around with Google Photos since they promise unlimited storage and what not. So this thread is really a test to see how hotlinking works with them. Can everybody see the image OK? This is my little tank of misfits. They got kicked out of my dad's community tank for being bullies. I have an Acei cichlid, a Texas cichlid and a Synodontis.

OK weird, but Photobucket let me hotlink from a free account? I looked up their policies and it says you have to have a premium account to hotlink? Totally confused but it worked so...not gonna ask too many questions.

I don't think you can anymore. About 2 or 3 years ago they made it so you have to have the premium account... and anything that was linked with them before was lost. I think they may have shot themselves in the foot, because Google does it for free. They must have enough paying customers I guess.

Here's the weird thing. This picture is coming from a free Photobucket account. And I went back into my old tank blog and all of those pictures are working now, too. Also, if you go to your own EA profile, click "Edit Profile" then click the "Settings" tab, you can choose a forum theme. The one labeled "false moorish" will display a digital painting I did for EA. When Photobucket first did their idiotic thing of disabling hotlinking, it wouldn't display the painting. But now it does. So they've changed something.

Awesome, apparently you can do it from Flickr. I can't get Google photos to let me embed photos. Apparently, it's not allowed from that platform.

So here's the planted barb tank. It's a 40 gallon long that currently has 5 tiger barbs, 1 rainbow shark and 1 very shy clown pleco. IMG_0027 by Katherine Morgan, on Flickr

Yes a lot of photos were ruined here and elsewhere when PB made this terrible decision. I guess they reversed course to save their business. As for Google, I use blogger and simply use the standard forum img tags An example from "Aquarium Answers" hosted by Google Blogger: From: www.aquarium-pond-answers.com/2016/09/how-to-treat-sick-fish.htmlCarl

I've been playing around with both the image hosting and my digital camera. Anyone know how to keep the camera flash from glaring off the back of the tank? I've tried different angles but I keep having to just crop it out of the photo. I got a good shot of some of my barbs. IMG_0033 by Katherine Morgan, on Flickr And this is Harvey, the rainbow shark. Don't mess with Harvey, he ain't playing around. IMG_0041 by Katherine Morgan, on Flickr

Don't use a flash. Use an overhead light that is bright enough to get a good picture.

I keep trying that. Apparently, nothing I have is bright enough. The colors look completely washed out if I don't use a flash
