Hello. This morning my black molly looked like she turned silver down both sides of her body. Her gills have looked silver for a while. For a few days there were a few scales that looked silver. It almost looks like her color is coming off. Do you have any idea of what is causing this and how I should treat it? Is this a disease? I did a 20% water change and added API Fungus Cure and a medicated Wonder Shell to her tank this morning, but I'm very willing to change that treatment protocol for something that will actually help her. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

I wouldn't treat just yet. What are your parameters. Are you using GH boosters? Wonder Shell? Mollys need cal, mag, potassium salts. I've seen mollys change color when there's no electrolyte salts (cal, mag, pott) in the tank. Molly Care www.americanaquariumproducts.com/Livebearers.html#molly

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, she died on Saturday (the day of your response).

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, she died on Saturday (the day of your response). Very sorry for your loss. If you not using minerals, I still suggest them for most all fish.
