Good morning,
I am looking at someone with information/experience with Grobeam 600 and/or 1500.
I have a tank, 65 gallons, freshwater planted, 36" X 18" X 24" high. What i see is that 24" high is not easy to lit. I have 2 Grobeams 600, one Zetlight ZP4000 Plants, one Finnex Ray 2 DS.
I am looking at slowly replacing the ramps and have only Grobeams. So next step, selling the Finnex and acquire either 2 other Grobeams 600, or one Grobeam 1500 Ultima. I wonder if i would be better with 4 Grobeams 600 or 2 Grobeam 1500. At worst the 2 Grobeams 600 i already own could supplement the Grobeams 1500.
Lights are 22" away from substrate.
Regarding the Grobeam 600, what is the maximum height that it should be used?
Thank you, i hope i am clear. Please let me know if i don't.
Michel.

Michel. 24 inch or 22 shouldn't be a problem for the grobeam. 24 is max, but considering substrate and most plats growing up towards the light, it's not a problem. 30 is more where you would want to start adding some blue into the lighting mix. You only need about 40 watts of GroBeam lighting for that size tank. 2 GroBeam 30 watt would techinally be over lighting the tank. Or maybe 1 30 watt and 1 600. Four 600s sounds best to me.

I have 2 Growbeams on my 65 gallon and as long as I keep the glass top glass clean, they are perfect. I do have a Tunze LED that sits under the waterline that I use for night lighting and to add a little buffering to the Growbeam's crisp white....

I just want to give an update after more than 18 months. My house was sold, i moved and scrapped my 65G tank and reused my 22G with only one Grobeam 600 over it, without co2 and with ADA Soil Malaya. Tank did run fine 14 months, then had some algae issues december 2018. However i think i am regaining control. www.aquaticlog.com/aquariums/micheljq/4Michel.

Ya, 1 12 watt GroBeam on a 20 gal is a good amount of light, so plants will grow good, but if the tank gets out of balance, like high bio-load with a long light cycle, with no Co2, it will have algae.
